5 step lip care routine that helps you get that soft and pink lips naturally

Who doesn’t want that glowing pink lips? While most of the girls love wearing lip colours and gloss, you can’t get that perfect pout unless you take good care of your lips.

Though it’s like your skin, understanding the differences between the lip and skin in other parts of your body is important to take care of your lips.

The skin on our lips is much thinner making them prone to cracks and chaps.

Lips have very few oil glands and hence has no ability to generate oils that helps to protect your skin.

Lip problems including cracks, chaps are caused mainly due to the environment conditions. While winters are the season you have more problems, its also the sun, dry air will equally dry your lips.

1. Avoid Dehydration

Dehyrdration is the major cause of dry lips. Ensure you drink enough water. Add fruits and juices to your routine. Having a check on your food helps too. Vitamins and other nutrients reflect directly on the health of your lips.

2. Avoid touching or licking your lips

As your lip does not contain any protection on its own, licking directly affects your lips. Touching your lips again makes your lips vulnerable to infection because of the dirt in your hand and also you tend to prick the skin on your lips if its chapped or split. Whenever you feel your lips dry or you have an itch to lick, just sip some water.

3. Scrub your lips

Scrubbing your lips ensures the dead skin cells are removed and your lips stay healthy. Find a natural lip scrub or make one at home using sugar, any oil and lemon or honey.

4. Massage your lips

Take few drops of your favourite oil. Go for a carrier oil like The Zero Skin’s Rosehip Oil which is rich in fatty acids like omega 3 and 6, which also assists in skin regeneration, repair and healing.
